Great job.  Maybe the best "everything cab" I've ever seen.   :notworthy:

But what's up with this Beck business?  With your handle, I figured the soundtrack would be "Unchained" or "Jump"...

Thank you for the kind words.  On the first item, yeah, the idea is that this is the one mame rig i'll have.  Not to say that it's not cool to have a horizontal machine, vert machine, cocktail, whatever, of course.  I'm just keeping the space clear for pinball machines.

On the VH thing, it gets overstated.  I really needed a handle a couple years ago for forums, xbox live, etc. and it just occurred to me at that time, and as a bonus it's arcade era appropriate.  As a tag it gives people the right idea of where i'm coming from in 3 words.  I love VH but I'm more likely to be listening to The Shins or a podcast lately.

Besides, If I put VH on the video, people would be distracted by the awesome in-your-face tune.  Not that Paza Rahm's not awesome. or that beck dude.

Nice, I hadn't seen the whole cabinet all together.

Well done! Definitely a pro build. I love the swappable panels (Oh if I'd realized those possibilities back when I started my cab!)

Love it. :applaud: I'll second what alfonzotan said, this may be the best "everything cab" out there. And a nice looking "everything cab" is not easy to pull off.

Very cool frontend too, and listing a bunch of forum members in the credits on the video was a nice touch.

Based on feedback, I should forget building stuff and just start youtubing it. :laugh2:  Seriously, I appreciate it.  Now I wish I had gotten out the actual video camera rather than using a point and shoot pos.  I was too lazy to track down the firewire cable.  :tool:

@nitz, I have to give credit to Pixelhugger & his video for the credit roll idea.  I saw his and felt it was a really nice acknowledgement of the members' input.  I didn't look up everybody who's posted on my thread(s), apologies if anyone was missed.

Since I've got the parts laying around, i'll probably make up another swap panel this summer.  It will likely be a Q-bert orientation stick over a defender right hand button layout.

Dude that video was a crack up! Awesome job! How many modular panel configurations do you have? I like the way that makes it expandable for every possible specialized controller out there without being dedicated. You need a 720 degrees controller now!

Right now just the ones shown in the vid.  Making a few more will happen once I finish the Sharpshooter resto work.    If I ever upgrade the PC and can run visual pinball better, I've got a plan to add a pinball launch button too.

Thank you, sadly it's not getting a ton of play these days.  I have to keep the cp covered with a towel due to dust sometimes.  Mame was my gateway drug to pinball.

It's a blast to play from time to time.  My wife loves playing DK and tapper.

I was getting burned out from playing so much Tempest, but I found "gals panic" and the whole Japanese genre associated with it. Addicting to say the least.

Mame was my gateway drug to pinball.

Ain't that the truth!  Built a MAME cabinet...   now I've got a garage full of pinball machines.

Ah ---steaming pile of meadow muffin---.  I'll have to see if I can figure out what happened to the pictures.  probably google takeout or some other self inflicted thing.
