Looking for Mandarin help

(1/2) > >>

Dervacumen:
Anyone here working on, or know Mandarin that can help me?  I have Rosetta Stone V2 as well as Pimsleur and both are okay, but nothing compares to talking with people.
I've dabbled for a while, but when talking with native speakers it's obvious I don't quite have it right.

Vigo:
What kind of help are you looking for?

Mandarin if incredibly tough for English speakers because it's all in the inflections. Most the time English speakers don't even notice the difference. A word can have a completely different meaning if it is inflected different. This is where I really have the most difficulty.

Malenko:
how exactly can we help? My GF is fluent in mandarin (shes from Taiwan) Im struggling my way through rosetta stone myself.

Dervacumen:
I dunno exactly.  Maybe send s few recordings back and forth to see if anyone can actually understand what I've said, or make a f3ew suggestions here and there.   Without the feedback from someone, even though I think I'm saying something right I just don't know.  So I may be mastering a bunch of unintelligible noise that only makes sense in my head.

Malenko:
well hows this sound, send me some wavs/MP3s of you speaking, and I'll see if my GF can understand. I can make some of her speaking as well. Out of curiosity, where do you live?
