Right, its B {Your OWN} A C's,

not

Build {Accepted analysis of an idealized young asian dude fight gamer's left hand as dictated by the time honored Mortal Kombat/Street Fighter constitutional convention of 1992 proceedings, Revision 2, with proposed slagcoin amendments} Arcade Controls!

 >:D >:D >:D >:D >:D >:D >:D >:D >:D >:D

I agree there's a time for authenticity, and a time for us big handed freaks to have it our way!

and +1 on the well executed art - best slim cab full sideart i've seen - proportions, etc. are great.  Plus, seems like you're going to see the sides whereas so many full depth cabs the art is hidden by the surrounding machines.

Man that looks awesome, congrats on finishing it!

Whats wrong with MAME and FbaNext? I'm debating modding my 360 and I've worked on some emulators before, if its just a matter of having a better UI or fixing up the drivers that isn't too difficult. If its something like not enough memory or the CPU is too slow to support some games, then that is a much bigger fix/change.

mame needs some catching up its based on 0.72 and lacks some good video filters, movies and some faster rom search

fbanext is fine just a costum gui would be nice and some more rom support

thanks for the compliment

^ yeah its been forever. they really need to make a "coinops" for the 360 with arcade and console emulator all in one. now with the new reset glitch, everyone is waiting for new updates.

anyway your cabinet looks great. what kind of material is used for the sideart?

That looks amazing. I would love to be able to play it.

Can you take some picture with the monitor on? I want to see something running on it. A video would be very nice.

Hi Martjin,

fantastic build, I had dissappeared when you had just sold your SF cab, and when I come back you have finished another brilliant cab.  :applaud: :applaud:

I was wondering how close you actually are to the screen when you are playing? And if the size of the screen is a problem?

I was thinking of ways to make my cabinet also run x-box games, so to hear that mame is available on older xbox's is fantastic. I will have to look more into this.

Anyways awesome cab mate!  :notworthy: :notworthy:

Any chance of a video of the cabinet in action?

Turned out very nice.   I like the contrast to your first one.  That one was all curves and this one is all angles.  They both look great.

What did the bit at 3:30 in your video have to do with the cabinet?   ;D

The lack of curves needed some extra footage I'm sure.

Who did the art work for your cabinets? I really like the look and feel of both cabinets and was wondering who did the work and how much did it cost?

dont bother because the new fbanext is a piece of shi :censored:

cant config controller for all games at once. have to do it for each game manually(HAHAHH). STILLL cant program player2 roundhouse to right trigger button which is the default for all arcade sticks.

Ok how do I miss a new Martijn project thread? Lol...sigh...   :banghead:

I need to spend more time on these boards. Martijn, your Street Fighter cab was the main reason I couldn't look at my first cab and be happy and the Aliens cab was born and here you go make another and I miss it :(

Now with that out of the way....

AWESOME...pure awesome...I have always loved your finishes and the small touches you bring to a cab that just scream tasty vanilla vla ;)

Everything from the speaker grills to the artwork is first class.  I also agree...two fingers and a thumb is the perfect spacing for joysticks and I don't like the short ones either...yours are perfect imo.  Ok now to go back and reread this project another few times!  :applaud:

Oh and don't sell this one!!!! :)

Hello Martijn,

My compliments on your Marvel vs Capcom cabinet.
I've not made a cabinet myself, but I have been doing some research for some weeks now. Got my PC and monitor parts already, now I have been learning some sketchup moves and drawn my first cab, kinda like your first Streetfighter cab with the round edges only with a LCD screen, and less deeper.
Your 2 cabinet projects inspire me, and I love your artwork, could you give me some tips ? At what resolution did you make your sideart in photoshop ?
I allready found the Marvel/Capcom characters in high resolution.
Why would you first laminate the sides and then stick the artwork on it ? Doesn't the vinyl stick on the plain MDF ( or with a prime layer first ) ?

Would I be too straightforward if I asked you if you would share your original artwork files with me ? Sure would save me a lot of time though  ;D'
Thanks

Oh and did you place anything on top of the CP artwork, something like Plexiglas ?
Wouldn't the artwork fade after a while ?

Hello Martijn....

I made the artwork the same size in cm and at 300 pixels per inch (22441 x 7078 px) for sideart

i laminated the sides and cp because it makes the survace flat  and the adhesive sticks really well on it. you get a flat bubble free result.

you can buy my artwork if you want. pm me

all the artwork is laminated to last a long time , the cp has a material covered with Polycarbinate laminate (also used for bullet proof glass!) which offers a very tough, scratch resistant and textured surfaces. This will last a long time and take a lot of abuse. Do not settle for vinyl laminate!

Hey Martinj, Is the side art vinyl scratch resistant by chance? Or is it a regular vinyl?  I am trying to decide where should I get my artwork printed for my Pete's slim cabinet.  Also, did you use T-molding on the bottom of your cabinet?  I can't tell from the pictures.

Welcome aboard, Schabowy.

I understand your frustration, but I'm pretty sure the rule is there to prevent the occasional spam-bot account that slips through from filling up everyone's message box.

The good news is that you only need about 10-15 posts IIRC before PMs are enabled, so you're well on the way.  If you're lucky, Saint will read this and decide to enable PMs for you now.  If he doesn't, there are still many fun topics here to read and post about/throw in your 2 cents.
