How auto start and shut down
« on: July 14, 2002, 04:09:32 am »
Been using Mame32 for quite a long time and researched thoroughly on building my cabinet, but don't know exactly how I am going to set up the automatic start and do i have to add additional buttons just for a shutdown.

Do I really need a Front End for autostart? I thought Mame 32 was a front end for Mame.  Any tips, hints, or suggestions will really help on start and shut down, and if a Front End is really necessary.

1. Mame32 is not a frontend for Mame. There are 2 versions of MAME --

MAME DOS (dmame)
MAME32 (mame for Windows DOS)

2. You need a frontend if you don't want to have to constantly type mame command lines. You need at least a BATch menu as a frontend.
