Wow....I didnt realize there was that huge of a market for these things. The only one I ever saw for sale was that Multi-Pin thing or whatever it was called with like 12 games on it.
People buying these things? I have to say the Virtua pin kits look kind of intriguing but I wonder if it would really be that hard to find an old unused pinball cabinet to use a shell. Plus you'd probably save $900.
Ummm, have you been living under a rock? Did you know that GEICO can save you 15% or more on car insurance in 15 minutes?
There is a huge market for these now. We've been building VPcabs for a long while now. Both HyperSpin-fe.com and VPForums.org have large communities of people that have built pincabs. We have a lot of really nicely re-drawn tables and some very talented table builders. We have people that add ROM driven solenoids, shaker motors, and LEDs/Flashers that change colors depending on the table being played.
This is an older pic of my cab that I've been building. It's actually nearing completion. Just lacking the custom lockdown bar that I'm getting from Virtuapin.net and glass. This is a 3 screen cab; using 42" playfield, 32" backglass and 19" DMD. The DMD is done in the style of the Pinball 2000 cabinets and will reflect off the glass to give it a little of a holographic look.
The artwork is currently being worked on and is going to look awesome when completed.
