Best Mame compatiable emulators
« on: September 02, 2003, 05:05:44 pm »
I am currently trying to add in my genesis, snes, gba rom collections into my current Mame machine.  I am using Game Launcher as my front end, but I am having problems finding emulators which are mame friendly.

By that I mean mostly that the keyboard inputs are programmable.  What console emulators do you guys recommend?

Cheers.

For Snes use Zsnes and for Genesis go with Wgens, Wgens lets you emulate Genesis, Sega CD & Sega 32!

Yeah MAME,Daphne & Zinc are my main emulators, dont much care for the whole console in your cab deal.

Still, add Daphne to your list of emus you wont regret it!

Speaking of Daphne.  I have the 25th anniversary dvd-roms (which arent ripable at this point , hopefully soon)  but I also have a version which I aquired in the meantime.  However its simply two files (d2lair.m2v and the sound file),  Its about 1.5 gigs.

I have loaded it into media player and it plays fine, but I can not find a utility that specifically splits/works with this file to make it daphne-working.

Any ideas?

Now i havent used daphne much, but cant you just change your text file to  point at certain locations of the single file?  It would be a pain, but i think it would work.

You need to generate a framefile working with that perticular mpeg file, have never tried it out but there is an option to make framefile with DaphneLoader, should be where you choose dir for framefile, hit Mpeg Locator, choose your mpeg and press generate framfile.
Dont know if its that simple but try it out and if it doesnt work check the offical daphne forum for info.
