Akward Zombie style arcade machine
« on: November 26, 2013, 11:13:46 am »
It took me about 3 years of lurking these forums but I finally completed my arcade machine.

The Marquee

Side pic from before my marquee was mounted properly (I had a party and wanted the gap fixed)

A better shot of the side art

Very nicely done.
 The marquee looks especially nice.
I like the Contra style C there.

Though I'm usually not a fan of character collages as artwork, I really have to commend you for keeping the art style the same on all accounts. Because of that, it actually works on your machine. Usually it's jarring when an 8-bit character is next to a 'roided out HD-quality Ryu, but I like how your style maintains the same look all around. Kudos to you!

Considering he only put 4 buttons on P3 and P4, I'm going to go out on a limb and say homeboy did his homework.

Kudos for having consistent art style across different characters. Looks neat.

I know I'm just repeating what everyone else already said, but the busy artwork looks nice because the style of all the characters is constant.

I saw lots of differing opinions on this forum for how to set the P3 and P4 joysticks. I have up pointing at the TV and down pointing at the player.

For everyone saying they like the artwork thank you very much. I'm not good at artistic endeavors so I went to my favorite web comic artist right when she was getting her first job and offered to pay her to do this. The side art was a steal for me she only asked for $50 so I paid her $100. After her book got funded on kickstarter she wised up and charged me $180 for the marquee. I dont regret it though since the art style matches. Also I have 4 posters from her on my walls, with matching style.

:o Wow, that's a great deal on custom art.
And Yeah, $180 is about right for a custom marquee.

Gonna throw my hat into the, "Kick ass artwork" ring.  I'd be willing to put that on my cab.  I wanna see pics of the posters now though.

Sounds angled.

So you're saying that you're a long time lurker that did his homework, built a rig the way he wanted it, put in some real money on it, isn't just fishing for positive feedback, and posted a complete build out of the gate?
