« on: June 03, 2011, 11:46:21 am »
Hi,
Me and my roomate would like to put something(s) in are yard to weird out neighbors or passer by's. We would like it to keep it un-afencive. If I get enough suggestions I will start a poll.

Thanks

Chad nailed it.  You, my friend, are quite seriously spelling impaired!   :applaud:  I can't say anything because, by using MS word to type everything in for years, I have lost the ability to capitalize the first letter of a sentence or type hte correctly due to autocorrect.

For your yard, I like those sprinkler type deer repellers.  they have a motion detector and turn on a sprinkler to keep deer from eating your yard.  set it so it covers about 1/2 the sidewalk in front of your house or right to the edge of the street.  Borderline afencive for sure.

Even the "really" in your avatar is spelled incorrectly  :lol

Get some sidewalk chalk and draw a bunch of chalk outlines of bodies. That could weird people out. Do one of your dog too, so they know the assailant meant business.

The deer hoser was a cool one too.
Pictures are overrated anyway.

Ooh, There are endless possibilities here. Where to begin?

A mural of Twinkee the Kid
A statue of the Hamburgler
Crunch berry bushes
A mummy
Radiation signs
A pink toilet
Bars of gold
5 foot tall lawn gnomes
A tepee
Giant beer stein
Hundreds of rubber ducks
A hedge maze
a pirate ship
Fozzy the Bear
A large sign that says "JUMANJI"
A fountain of blood
A gumdrop forest

A giant tic-tac-toe board etched out of the lawn by salting the ground and killing the grass. Then get those "gazing orbs" to use as the Xs and Os. Make one move per day.

A fully MAMEd taxidermy goat
a diorama of Jack the Ripper
A caged Liger

I would do this one:  Take a pedestal, put kermit the frog on it, get a bunch of candles, preferably the religious type with pictures of the Ascension of Mary on the side, burn incense, araange all of this in a half circle around Kermit.   Get 2 2x4's drive them into the ground behind Kermit 6 feet apart. Get a 4x8 foot of plywood, Spray "Save us from the END!!!"  on it, attach to 2x4s

Setup a large number of lawn gnomes and/or other lawn creatures engaged in some activity. Choose new activity and rearrange each night after dark. Post pictures of display here daily.

How about large quarintine signs on your front door and garage door announcing some strange infectious disease, coupled with police tape roping off the front yard.
Please!  Give me the good news first!

A mural of Twinkee the Kid

Excellent suggestion. LOL  I love that character.  So much so that I made him my name and spray in TF2.

As for what to do with the front, I'll add that maybe, with some money, you can recreate Pee-Wee's front yard in Pee Wee's Big Adventure:

That's a good one.

These ones are cool:

A mural of Twinkee the Kid
A statue of the Hamburgler
Crunch berry bushes
Bars of gold

And this (minus...)

You could put a sign out front something like, "TANTRIC SEX PRACTICE". That could go a lot of ways, though.....

Because "are" and "our" are both actual words. The old Spelling Checker poem sums it up nicely...

I have a spelling checker
It came with my PC
It highlights for my review
Mistakes I cannot sea.

I ran this poem thru it
I'm sure your pleased to no
Its letter perfect in it's weigh
My checker told me sew.

It probably just exploded when it got to un-afencive.  LOL

I made this burnt child-sized corpse and put it on my open BBQ at halloween. 3 weeks later the mailman asked when I was going to put it away.

How about a cardboard box with a radioactivity sign on it? Then another sign on a stick in front of it saying something like "Danger! Maintain a safe distance of at least 100 yards!"

Good way to wind up with the Feds at your door. It sounds silly, but I know someone this happened to for having military ammo cases in the garage. They were big metal mortar boxes he used for storing other stuff and a heating/cooling guy working at the house saw and reported them.

Man I love those containers. They sell them in various sizes off of big pallets at the local hardware store here sometimes. We've got an Air Force Base nearby so maybe they come from there.

Used one of the big ones as a drum one time to record a "tribal" inspired cover of the main theme from Double Dragon. (:

Well seeing that the date is the same as the last few posts you made and in one of those you say :

Between rain yard work and being in the hospital this thing has been neglected. :badmood:

Maybe it was the medication they had you on that makes you not remember starting this thread !!  :dunno
