| 32" CRT Monitor for Vertical Cab? |

As long as the 32" fits, it should be pretty cool. On my project (which I need to get in gear on) is with a 27" vertical monitor and it looks best to not have all of the games completely fill the screen. |

in my opinion any screen bigger than 25 inch is completley nonsens for a vertikal setup , no matter what style the cab is . the only cabinets providing accurate distance between gamer and 30 inch +x screens are showcases . but why in gods name would anyone play verti on a showcase !? 29 inch candy cabinets in vertikal mode are highly uncomfortable , no matter if its lowres or vga . sometimes the bigger is better mentality makes me laugh . |

I don't really know what you mean by accurate distance between the screen and the gamer. I've always liked being a bit close to the screen. I'm typing this on a 52" tv from about 3-4 feet away. |

All the games are VERY playable on my MAME cab, and the horizontal games are abou the same as a 25" horizontal monitor. |

Picked it up this morning. It is a Gateway 2000 Destination DL31-1. I guess technically it is a 31" monitor, viewable size is 31.4". This thing is HEAVY, holy cow. Maximum resolution is 800x600, but it looks great. Stashed it away in storage, it's so heavy I don't want to build a cab with it until after we buy our next house in a couple years. It will be nice hooking straight up to the monitor with VGA, with no need for any adapters or special video cards. Probably would have passed on this if I hadn't seen Malenko's KI2 (very nice BTW). Now to keep my eyes peeled for a deal on an empty Midway cab... |
