Cramming 1000 years of evolution into a couple days of runtime?  Sounds like the standard use of computing power to test out a theory and see if the outcome resembles expectations.

Anyone know if Newegg sells a personal EMP generator? Im willing to pay 500 bucks.

Property value near steel refineries are sure to be on the rise soon.

Howard_Casto:
Eh... people seem to confuse access to data, data manipulation and calculating power with intellegence.  Computers that are "super intellegent" have intellegence around the level of a drone ant and that's being generous.

Until a computer becomes self-aware it is merely a machine.  Fortunately computers don't evolve like we do, so there isn't any danger of that ever happening.  That is unless some idiot writes code for a machine specifically to make it self aware, and even then it's a long shot.

Every AI group in every Computer Science department is working on that.  All of them.  It is every cmpsci professor's wet dream.
