No solder here... when I built my first machine from scratch years ago, I built a harness with spade connectors for my ipac.  Gonna be using that.  I can appreciate the time they took to solder it, but I'm not that good with a solder gun...

I just noticed that at least some of your buttons are vertical switches rather than the current standard horizontal switches.  I've never played with (to my knowledge) a vertical switch, but when I was building my first cab a few years back, those buttons were rated rather poorly.  You might consider upgrading to better buttons as well.  If you're going through the effort to improve the stick, it's not much more effort to replace the buttons at the same time.
