Thanks for the kind words everyone!
Doesn't seem like it's been nearly 2yrs since I started this build. A couple of weeks ago, my youngest (nearly 3yrs old) told me he wanted me to build him an arcade. I think it made my wife a little nervous.
This is a fantastic build, it's easy to see all the attention to detail that was put into it. I am going to try to build something similar for my kids (and for me ) and as a total noob to woodworking your build looks extremely intimidating!
Random question: I love the idea of using glass over the monitor, it gives a very professional look IMO. Does the glass just rest on top of the monitor bezel (I believe you referred to it as the "minor bezel" in one of your earlier posts), or did you install it at a steeper angle relative to the monitor position?
Yes, the glass just sits on the bezels... gravity does all the work. The aluminum strip at the bottom keeps it from sliding off when I remove the control panel.
Don't let your lack of woodworking experience slow you down. There are plenty of folks here that had little to
no woodworking experience right before they made all our jaws drop.
This has been the coolest toy ever. Earlier this week some friend came over, and we ended up playing Galaga. And just yesterday, I sat down and played Raiden before going to work.
You and your kids will love it.
