Is it possible - mame cab and jukebox?
notroubleclubber:
I was thinking that id be left with a big hole in the side of my cab if i decide to move the juke.
I think im gonna be better off getting a cheap pc and big hard drive and doing a seperate build - i was just hoping to save on the parts of another pc and speakers.
Programming wise i know tis will be alot easier.

You could put in an original Xbox with a modded XBMC.
XBMC for the Xbox1 is mouse friendly, and you can save some cash.
stick this on your monitor and off you go. I'd say $100 all in.
I wouldn't bother with the disco lights though.... :laugh2:

I can get a modded xbox 1 for next to nothing.Ive already got a touchscreen (15") so dont need anything else.
Does anyone use xbmc on xbox and touchscreen and does it work? The touchscreen has a usb or serial connection to pc so how would this connect to an xbox?

I get cheap USB hubs at my local crap shop for a few pennies. Just get an old controller disconnect and rewire it and stick the usb hub under the Xbox.
Or you can hard wire it to one of the joypad ports like port 4. Then hook up your touch screen. The time to get this working will be minimal, the only issue you will have will be how you want the screen layout. But that is completely up to you.
I use CoinOPS for Mame and I launch it from XBMC so you can have a Juke/Arcade setup.
Its so hard to believe today that such a cheap and quiet device can be so flexible compared with a $1000 media system.

u can spend the 125.00 to get the lcd :touch-screen: overlay from happ controls
just look up elo and trace there dist.,happ show's up
overlay the mame, then install vrockola, find that in our file's section
and u have a complete touch video-juke-game-machine
with vrockola all u need to do is have a hard-drive or a cd-rom to :point: it to
use burn's of your cd's so that native win10x will see them ,and give u there skins
plus then u can game in the foreground, and juke in the back ground
mine i install a seround sound amp system
they sound sweet
