--- Quote ---BTW, with a plot as weak as the one in either TRON movie, the identity disk stands out as one of the most notable "devices". It had to be incorporated into the table somehow, and I'm still curious as to how you would have done that. --- End quote --- I dunno about that. The plot was far better than a lot of the crap they are producing these days. Of course, the original is leaps and bound better in every way possible, compared to the new release. As for the Disc, if you really think about it.. your Pinball "IS" the disc. While there could be other ways to represent the disc, especially better than a stationary disc that blends a ball... its not even really needed. The Disc can also easily be incorporated as a game mode on the DMD display. The more memorable and cool things of Tron are: (The Original) 1) The Space Paranoids arcade machine, and the Flynns Arcade itself 2) The Recognizers 3) The Tanks 4) The Solar Sailor 5) The Light Battle 6) The Communications Tower 7) The Laser digitization sequences 8 ) The Disc Battle 9) The Bit 10) Seeing Flynn bring back the Recognizer to life 11) MCPs worried argument with Flynn before sending him in And of course, the Look of the Tron world. Especially after the MCP was defeated. There really is very little that is represented in the movie on that table. The representation is very poor, boring, just doesnt fit. Hate to say it, but at least with Lord of the Rings, they put forth a much better representation. The sword shaped ball lock looks great. The crystal ball is Ok. Ballrog is a great and fun addition. The EYE works well and looks decent. (The POTD sucks though) |

--- Quote ---Don't you pretty much have to do both of those things before you can even get the ball into the "blender"? --- End quote --- Actually, they are not traditional dropdowns, but the targets do eventually drop. But your reward for this, is to watch the ball roll around in a few circles. It makes no sense, and its boring. At least with for example, Pirates, theres a mechanical ship that animates and sinks into the playfield. Thats a satisfying event to your efforts. Theres really nothing that looks satisfying or interesting on this table.. period. |

You haven't played it, so you don't know what the ball does up there. Anyone notice the Tron arcade machine sitting over the ball scoop? (middle right) |
