PS2 Lightgun on PC - Help!!
(1/1)

I just signed up for an account, and it told me the username was already used.  I signed in, and found that I created an account here when I first started the cabinet in 2005!  Haha!  I went to college, got married, and just finally picked up the partially completed cabinet from my parents' house.  I finished the control panel, all I need is a bezel for the monitor and some touch up painting, and it will be just about 100%.

Enough with the story - here's my question:  I am using an old 21" Mac monitor (BEAST!) but running on PC.  I want to use a light gun, but I'm not interested in spending $100+ on one (ok, I'm not interested in spending $50+ on one).

So I've been looking at using a PS2 lightgun.  If I purchase this lightgun:  http://www.amazon.com/Playstation-2-Freeshot-Lightblaster-Gun-Wireless/dp/B0002OJQ6S/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

and use these drivers:  http://xoomer.virgilio.it/guncon2/

will I be able to get it working for, say, House of the Dead?

Also, the ROM set I have is still from about 2005.  Will that pose an issue?  And is there any benefit to upgrading?

Thanks!

A gyration mouse wouldn't track where the gun is actually pointed.  It couldn't be that accurate.
It would be more like playing with an analogue joystick on a gamepad than a light gun.
