Mini\Cabaret, Customer Build - 2-Player Street Fighter Theme
« on: April 01, 2013, 08:10:00 am »
Been keeping myself busy this past month since I returned from my trip. Attempting to fill the hole that was left from the expenses.

First up is this Mini I built. Absolutely love this thing, so much fun to play.

I basically took a rough design in my head of how I built my nephew's birthday cabinet and improved upon the curves and overall design.

Here are some pictures, let me know what you guys think. (Sorry for the crappy camera phone pictures, sold the DSLR to pay for a week in Paris)

Up close of the Control Panel

Custom Serial Plate by yours truly

Quick height comparison, I am 5' 10" or so and the cabaret is about 3' 8" I believe.

And a video of me sitting down and playing it

----Noise in background is of a fan, not coming from the arcade----

I usually take a ton of photos but not having a nice camera to do it with makes me not want to.

        I did take this video though;

Once again, thanks for the continual support and knowledge!

Cute!

What are the guts that you're using to run it?

Not bad, what do you think you put in mats and time?
I drink and I know things.

Cute!

What are the guts that you're using to run it?

It is a dual core 2.8 ghz, 3gb desktop I threw together running MalaFE, a 19" LCD screen I got off craigslist and a thrift store set of computer speakers.

Here are some pictures of the insides and thanks for the compliments!

------------

Quick rundown of what it actually cost me.

Monitor - $15 - Cragislist
Computer - $15 - got it in a trade and that is about its worth in the barter
Power Strip - $1 - Thrift Store
PC Speakers - $5 - Thrift Store
Buttons\Joystick - $44 - Ebay supplier I always use
Encoders - $6 - Hacked gamepads from china
Acrylic - $15 - Home Depot
Wood - $15 - I used spare wood that I had laying around. The sides and top panel are of MDF (from a previous build) and the rest is scrap stuff I had laying around.

Roughly - $130 / A good $700+ Profit

It barely cost me that to build this, had a bunch of things on hand like the wood & computer. As for time, I barely spent any on it. Cut and stuck it together in one day, painted it in two, electronics done on the day after. Did this while building the Mario Bartop I posted and finishing up a full size for a customer (that one is almost done, will have pictures soon).

Wanted some extra money, had most of what I needed to build one laying around. These things have been selling like hot-cakes lately, sold in less than a week after finishing it.
