PinWiki, The New Place For Everything Pinball

<< < (2/2)

Pinball Wizard:
Luckily, I own a hosting company, so my costs are minimal, and no GoDaddy ad will ever be there.

I do not have plans for hosting the old pinrepair.com info. Problem is that I don't want to be arguing over copyrighted information.

RayB:
I'd rather support PW than that tool at pinrepair.
(and as for "copyright", PR's stuff is all amalgamated from various sources. The site even says as much. So the fact that he's holding it hostage and charging for access is even more dickish.)

ChadTower:

It is well established that Clay's guide was actually written by many people and also culled from RGP over the years.  If everyone feels so strongly why has nobody publicly mirrored it to make sure this doesn't happen again?

Jeff AMN:
I set up pinballwiki.com some time ago and seeing the pinrepair stuff go down made me go back and look at it. I guess my permissions weren't strong enough and the whole site had become a link farm for spammers. I've cleared that out, but I've lost many, many articles. If anybody wants to register and toss some info up, feel free.

For pinwiki.com, I HIGHLY suggest you throw some secure protection on the articles or you'll have a mess on your hands. Good luck.
