- we were in town thursday evening and didn't go to a hockey bar, but saw the aftermath downtown after the loss...
- went to grouse mountain - wife had never been there before. We didn't take the tram, but did a little light hiking at the base and checked things out

No problem, glad you had fun! You and I lucked out on the weather this weekend.
Portland was great. I loved it, it's such an awesome city.
We really only had 2 days there to look around. When we first got there, we went to Ground Kontrol...it was Mecca for me. Exactly what I've been missing from the glory days of the arcades...but with beer!
I was pleasantly surprised by the crowd of people, the place was packed and happening! There was a good mix of both guys and girls! There were about 25 games, and about 15-20 pinball machines upstairs. I immediately went straight for ol' faithful and played a bit of Robotron. I noticed that the high-score was only 900K, so I figured I"d throw a million up on it and move onto the other classics. Played a bunch of Burgertime, Joust, Galaga, Asteroids, Tron, Discs of Tron, Star Wars (upright), Track and Field (though the buttons were pretty beat-up), and they had a 4player Pacman Battle Royal table. SO. MUCH. FUN. Also, their LCD slimmed-cut Xmen 6-player cabinet was very impressively converted. The screen was big and bright, and seemed that the machine was always in use.
The bar area was very cool too. Lit table-tops, and through-out the arcade there was tron-legacy-esque lit-up trimmings along the walls and furniture.
We drank and played, and just had a great time. That place really proves that you can open a place like that and be successful in this day in age.
The next day we had a wonderful brunch at Mother's Bistro & Bar, then did a lot of walking for our brewery crawl. We went to 4 breweries, drank a lot of beer (tons of great micro-breweries there) I have to say that my favourites were Rogue, and Bridgeport Brewery. Bridgeport's crowd was better though, due to the Trailblazer's playoff game on tv.
After being fairly buzzed by 6pm, we went back to the hotel for a power-nap, then off to Huber's. Very cool place. The back drinking area felt like a speakeasy to me, one of those bars that were around during the prohibition days. Their Spanish coffee was both impressive to watch made, as well as tasty to drink. We ended up closing that place down!
Sunday, we were off to the Mississippi District, and the Woodburn outlet mall (south of Portland) to do some shopping. Then came back up to watch the Canucks game at a pretty sweet Sports bar in Portland called Macadam's Bar and Grill. They were really great. They put us in our own room with a big projector screen and we had the hockey game all to ourselves!
All in all, this was a great small trip, and we'd love to go back to Portland again. 2 days really wasn't enough to see everything we wanted to, but I feel that we packed in a lot of things in that small amount of time.
Other than the large-ass-amount of driving, I've got no complaints. Oh, maybe one...I wanted to spend more time at the arcade. ;)

Sorry to Necro this thread, but I'm off to Portland tomorrow morning. I'm planning to visit Ground Kontrol with my son. I'll take plenty of photos!
