Michigan Pinball Expo

(1/1)

Bootay:
Wasn't sure where to post this but I just wanted to let all of the Michigan users know about this:
http://www.mipinball.com/

It starts next Thurs. and ends next Sunday. Who is going?

Bootay:
Well....no one ever responded to this, but whatever. I went yesterday. It was pretty cool. I was able to try out a bunch of stuff I never tried but always wanted to. Here are a few of the experiences.

1) I played on my first digital pinball table. There were 3 of them there. It was alright but it didn't feel right. I would still build one just to play on tables I would never own I suppose, but obviously it was not the same as playing the real thing at all.
2) Some might think it sacrilege but I finally played Funhouse again after 20 or so years.....didn't really care for it much compared to a lot of others.
3) I finally played a multicab with vertical LCD and as expected, graphically it didn't look right to me. Way too blocky. So I will still stick to an arcade monitor if I ever get around to building one.
4) My son was a fan of Haunted House and Indiana Jones and surprisingly he really enjoyed the non-digital ones as well.

We were there from 5pm-11pm. I played on pretty much everything there. There were quite a few tables that I wanted to try that were either broke down or absent, but all in all it was worth the $12 admission.

Did anyone else go yet or plan on going ?

I know this topic is getting a bit old, but since I did attend the MI Pinball Expo, I figured someone might enjoy the pix I took:

Sorry about the quality about the pix- the camera doesn't always want to cooperate.
