U360 - do you use the pin harness for output or just USB?

Is there any reason for me to use the pin header harness as output for the four directionals - connected to an Ipac - when I plan to use the USB connection?  Any benefit to the redundancy?  I guess it would just mean not having arrow key keyboard inputs and going joystick only for that stick.

If there's no concern, I'm repurposing my harness to plug into an optiwiz for a trackball connection.

Ultimarc commingled with GGG - Heresy, I know.

When the U360 is connected only to the computer via usb it is seen as a gamepad by the computer. When you have the I/O header connected to an I-pac, it is seen as keystrokes, and the usb cable sends the remapping info to the stick. Gotta love options! You don't need the usb connection if you don't use the remapping feature and it is hooked up to an I-pac.

I'm going USB only for now.  I can always fork the $12 plus shipping for the header harness if I need the keyboard input later, but hopefully not!

Those inputs on the ipac will be available later since I will run a separate dedicated 4 way for P1 as well.

Well you also get the benefit of 16 buttons INPUTS if used in the reverse orientation...but maybe you are already have that covered...
Nephasth:
Are you having a seperate dedicated 4-way just for the authentic mechanical restriction? I ask because it seems strange to spend the money on U360s, not use I/O feature, and have a seperate 4-way when the U360 can be mapped as a 4-way.
