krazyxkarl:

Hey everyone,
So I have been cruisin' this site for a short while and am SUPER impressed with some of the stuff everyone puts on here and it has inspired me to get on my own project. I have dismantled a Jakks plug n play 10-1 game and want to turn it into a bar-top  cab... I decided to go with jakks cause it's cheep and I can destroy it without feeling bad about it. So........... here it goes...

below is the cardboard cutout and the monitor I plan to use

krazyxkarl:

this is the jakks electronics dismantled... I had to saw through the side of the plastic in order to keep the joystick... I haven't found anything on a replacement joystick so I can still play pole position... So I thought I better keep this one in one piece.

krazyxkarl:

also,
I used an old 5v cell phone charger to power the board... it seems to work nicely.

Blanka:

Maybe you can add a little steering wheel to the Jakks stick for Pole Position, and add a true 4-way stick for the other games.

Everybody should dismantle these Jakks toys. They all have the same big fail: stick on the right, button on the left. This makes the shooters unplayable (besides, their buttons are extremely stiff too).

Rusty Shackelford:

Good stuff. If possible could you take some shots and descriptions of how you are wiring everything up? Thanks in advance.
