Which is the best light gun for the Wells D9800?
(1/1)
Mickelonis:
Title says it all,

I was looking at the Aim-Trak from Ultimarc... I'm not sure what other devices there are out there...

About the Aim-Trak, it requires you to mount the infrared tracker LED's to the monitor, does anyone have an example on how they did this with their Mame cabinets? I'm looking at my cab and I can't figure out where I'd mount the thing...

Are there options other than the Aim-Trak? (I'd just like to learn about all my options before making a decision).

Also, I have a sheet acrylic over my bezel, in front of the D9800... Would that cause an issue with light guns?

Thanks ahead of time guys!

I've got the D9800 and the Happ bezel, and I mounted the LED bar through the bezel.

I also tried the silver act-labs gun, but I couldn't get them to work.  At some resolutions the whole screen wouldn't flash, and on other resolution the accuracy was off more than a few feet away from the screen.

The Aimtraks are pretty good.  The only downsides are the calibration being off for people much shorter than me, and with the big size of the D9800 I've got to be back from the screen just a bit further than I'd like to hit the bottom.  Otherwise, they are extremely flexible and accurate.  They work fine through my tinted glass.
