The main thing that has always bugged me about banning violent videogames versus rating them is the assumption that so many lawmakers have that video games are only played by kids...they forget about all us Gen Xers still playing video games. I believe Australia and Germany (I could be wrong on specifics) ban violent games and remove content versus rating them...(IE you can get the game without the violence but not with (even as an adult). That just seems wrong to me.

Yeah, it's fricken ridiculous in Australia. Up until the '70's Australia was one of the most hip swingin' nations on earth. Now we get censored more than the US ever has. In recent years, Left 4 Dead 2 was banned, and the latest Mortal Kombat has been too. This is because for some retarded reason, there is no 18+ rating for video games here, so those titles are refused classification. I'm surprised Madworld got through, but I guess it's violence is more 'cartoony'...
