maybe there is more to it than just "ballet dancing" might wanna stop judging books by covers. DA is our generation's stanley kubrick. if it was by a random no name director I might have skipped blackswan even with all the positive reviews.
watched everything listed above and Id say Inception was the best last year. personal opinion of course.
also train your dragon was muuuuuch better than toystory3 simply because Ive seen 2 of those before. even if it was a fresh new movie, Id still take TYD over TS any day.

Yeah, I usually dont "judge a book by its cover" but this one seemed kinda "meh" to me. Sometimes you gotta judge a little bit. I agree with you on DA being our SK, but this kinda looked like his Eyes Wide Shut to me. He was attached to the new Robocop remake but he is doing a sequel to Wolverine now.
I still havent seen How to Train your Dragon, but Im looking at Toy Story 3 differently than all of you I guess. Im not looking at it as a stand alone film, Im looking at it as the conclusion to the whole, well, Toy Story :lol

Why would this seem like his Eyes Wide Shut? Eyes Wide Shut wasn't about ballet, wasn't nominated for Best Picture, wasn't met with near universal critical acclaim. It seems to me that you have no objective reason to assume that this movie would somehow be worse than a typical Aronofsky film.

I meant the subject matter. Snaaake mentioned that he was our generations Kubrick. I didnt mean it literally. Eyes wide shut was weird, and this one is supposed to be weird too. Keep in mind I still havent even seen it. Im just saying based on what its about. Doesnt she masturbate in front of her parents or something?
shmokes:
I haven't seen it, so I can't answer specifics. But I suppose there's a good chance it is weird. Have you seen Pi or Requiem For a Dream? Nevertheless, it seems that there's really not much reason to worry that it won't be good, or that its weirdness makes it inaccessible to the average Aronofsky fan.
