What i am building is a stand up arcade, for my store i work at. I am going to use a x-gaming dual stick (pretty much because im new and dont want to build the controls atm and its lifetime warranty will benefit me when the little brats at my store come in to try and break it.) i am also going to use a 32" Samsung 720p LCD. im not exactly sure the model since i dont have it yet (buying it from a friend), so i dont know if this will be the right weight. The Thing that is worrying me the most about building this is the weight of the lcd (~15.7 lbs). What would be the best way of ensuring that the tv will stay upright and wont fall because of the weight? Also, What is a good way to stop it from tipping over? i know people are going to lean on it even if i say dont. what materials would do this job also? Should i weigh it down? (edited: said heat instead of weight. altered a question to make it sound clearer.) here are some picture of the model i made. Atm this i the direction i am going but i may end up scraping it again and starting over. The big pictures look horrible so i just attached the pics below (Edited: added pictures of what direction i may go in) After doing alot of reading im thinking that i do not need to worry and the siding will be all i need and i can just mount it to that. I still am not sure tho. |

Have you looked here? http://www.arcadecab.com/ Might be some useful info there. If cabinets can support those heavy picture tubes, I'm sure you can build something to support a lcd. |

I hope you aren't charging money to use it. It's against the license to use Mame in a commercial application |

gona be a ps3 cabinet for the new MVC3 . Going to use it for tournaments in such at my store (not evo). personal use in what not.. bit braging right too. would be cool to brag to friends saying i built one. but Donkbaca i did not know that about mame tho thanks. @ clutch yea i suppose honestly (dont know why should be pretty obvious) i thought that the lcd were heavier then the old CRT's. so if all these plans are for a big tube tv then a lcd would be safe. guess now i just got to get set on on what i want it to look like. still worried that once built some ones going to end up leaning on it and knocking it over. |

I don't think stability will be your problem with this build... that is a large footprint. Those feet that come out from the front might trip people though - just something to consider. Will the people playing this be basketball players? Will you have a stool for normal height people? That control panel is really high off the floor. |
