Control panel help

personally I like just having 2 joysticks also. I had a 3rd one for dedicated 4-way on my last controller and I won't go that route again.
It wouldn't be benificial though to have one 8-way and one 4-way because if you go to play a double joystick game like Robotron or one of my favorites like Rescue, you will not have diagonals for shooting.
On my control panel I have 2 Sanwa JLWs. They are true 4-way, 8-way switchable via a rotatable restrictor plate. I keep my left one set to 8-way with a round gate plate and I keep my right one typically in 4-way and then when I need it in 8-way, I open the panel and rotate the restrictor plate.
Alot of guys on here use ultra sticks and have them 4-way, 8-way through program mapping. I believe those are the sticks that some guys are having issues with in Hyperspin, but I think its only when in full analog or something, but I'm not sure because I've never used them.

When it comes to 4-way, 8-way switching, remember that the Happs are not truly switchable.

looks good...  You have a backspin button?

Eeeek, I am planning on using Hyperspin as my FE and do you know exactly which joys are having issues??

It is strictly for Golden Tee. You put backspin on the golf shot and it stops faster and draws back sometimes.

I would put that 7th button back personally. Sure, it only takes 4 buttons to play a neo geo game - but it's a better experience if you use the 7th, and the bottom row of three - it's pretty close to a neo-geo layout. Also, that button falls conveniently close to where a run button would be if you're a MK fan.

As to the other buttons, if you are a hardcore enthusiast for GT then they belong there! However if you want to clean the look up a bit I'd suggest removing them and mapping those controls to the other buttons. For example turn left, backspin, turn right on the top row of P1's buttons. As it is though, it looks nicely symmetrical and not overly cluttered.
