I noticed in one of the episodes, there was a 'Jessica Walter movie' cameo, for want of a better phrase. She was in a 60's movie called Grand Prix, set in Monaco. And sure enough, in the Archer episode when they go to the Monaco Grand Prix, it features (inexplicably until you know why) 1960's Grand Prix cars (",)

I'm terrible at making these connections normally. It got me thinking, are there more references like this in Archer? Perhaps every episode?

I saw that episode. Didn't get it at all. But I don't watch any sports or even tv, so I have no idea what shoes or clothes they're wearing, let alone what kind of cars are being driven.

Beniot....

BALLS!

most of the first season or 2 of archer was set in an obscure reference, with even more references all around just like the Monaco episode.

You couldn't tell that they weren't the latest type of Grand Prix car?

@Malenko: oh, well that makes sense why it's so bizarre. Layers of it.

No idea. Seriously, I get NO media exposure, aside from what I might see while out and about (which is very occasional), at my parents' house (which I usually leave the room from anyways - when we're watching M.A.S.H. I mute the tv during commercials), or what's said here.

So, unless you googled it, you can't tell which one of these cars is from 1961, and which is from 2013?

Obviously the bottom one is newer, since they didn't have self-driving cars in the 60's.
