Skateboard collecting? UPDATE: All 8 boards are here...with pics

Art of Skateboarding goes down sometimes. Totally home grown. But well structured. Mark it and check back. Definitely worth the peek.
Powell and Peralta and Santa Cruz are doing a lot of throwback stuff. The quality just isn't the same it was 20+ years though. Screeneprinted decks from those times, in some cases, look as if they've come right from the shop. The methods they use know are much more apt to have the deck warp, split, and graphics crack up over time. Not comparable at all.
And some stuff they'll never realistically be able get away with altogether like they did at one time either. Not without a lot of grief probably.
If I were only going 8, I'd pick out some real deals that meant the most and hunt those down. You got it easy at only 8. Feel my pain.

I am sure over time my decks will change, you know sell a common one on ebay & replace it with some grail of a board as funds become more & more disposable.
There are some must have toys my basement lacks right now that I have to acquire before chasing those really bad ass boards though. Odds are I will revert to the vintage 80's decks when that days rolls around, even though I was too damn young to skate in the 80's it sure is the era that is most appealing to me.
Is that your stack of boards?

The Hosoi doc was pretty tough to watch at times but it does end well. It is great to see he is putting his life together.

That's one of them. I have some wrapped and boxed.Others hanging. Also alot of completes, wheels, trucks, stickers, mags, cloths. I carry the stigma of not only wanting to live in an arcade but a skateshop as well.
