I just ordered 16 of these: http://www.etsy.com/listing/24102191/woodys-skateboard-wall-mount-display

In order to mount 8 cool skateboards in this type of manner: http://www.sk8ology.com/Gallery/

Tough to narrow it down to just 8 boards, damn FML... Tough to narrow down the era too. I was captivated by skating during the 80's but didnt get too involved until the 90's. Bit of a Vision Street Wear VS Alien Workshop battle royale taking place in my head. Now I am 32, bald, married, employed & chubby so this is all about the appreciation for the board art & nostolgia of the good ol days.

Anyone have a suggestion regarding an iconic board they recall from back in the day or a new design thats out today?

Trucks/Wheels are not being purchased at this time, thats after the financial sting of 16 mounts & 8 boards wears off  ;D

That will look sweet.   I would like a Hosoi Hammerhead myself.

My son is big into skateboarding.  They bought me one of those Galaga boards last year and I'd like to mount it on the wall once I get my cabinets in place.

Erik:
I stopped skating before everything switched to the narrow boards that all have the same shape, so I'm partial to the wide boards with varied shapes.  For decoration purposes I'd stick with one era or the other personally, otherwise it might not look so good.

Awesome!  I had that Hawk model in day-glo pink.  ;D

Good link for 80's board info.  http://www.squidoo.com/vintageskateboards
