« on: October 16, 2010, 04:39:34 pm »
Hello there, greetings from Manchester UK.
I'm another big boy making a big toy : ) be patient for my English please I'm still learning (I'm Polish)
So this is what I'm working on, bingo machine, love that chrome (wow I see  family resemblance with my avatar)

I bought it as a began project, but my idea was a bit different:

Forgot to make a picture, i cut off front part to make a room for biggest CP

Jig and go

to be continued

Very interesting. I've never seen a machine like that. Are you going to do something with the marquee as well or leave it as is?

I definitely do, it's most ugly marquee I've ever seen (I don't really like the shape of top marquee  :-\ .
The both marquee glass are already cleaned and plexi for sandwich are done. By the way, behind dark part of top marquee there is LED display I'm hope to make it work with Byoacers help. I will soon start a rescue topic about it.

CP top i done, i have no workshop or garage so all woodworking is happening in the kitchen, try to imagine that mess  >:D

I have also paint a bottom of CP and drill a holes for admin buttons (trying to keep it low budget so I 've used buttons which came with machine) of course I forgot about underlay before color paiting so now I have to paint it hundred times more, before it will be look nice  :banghead:

A little step forward. On the bottom of machine there was a coin return slot, so I find it as good place for hidden on/off, USB, volume control panel

base for potentiometer made from PC back blind
usb panel from PC parts donor  8)
now time for painting,
 to be continued

Hi there!
Christmas, life, and fact that machine is playable, do not left me a  time for posting progress  :lol
Two pictures of finished usb panel (second is a view from outside).

Car boot is probably cheapest place to buy parts for this hobby so here  it is sound system ( 2£ ;D ) with parts removed

first test with pc removed from case, it is alive!  :drool
and Christmas on arcade according to my wife :)

package arrive

few picture about work on bottom marque, with my wife help we've cut many many... circles and try hundrets  ways for training to make the ideal one. I was dreaming about cutting plotter. Finally as a plotter we use little jar with was stick to foil by the double sided adhesive tape to prevent of move, oil, to let my thumb slide on jar and my wife spin the table   :dizzy:

Thats a very unique cab. I think it looks awesome and I really like the radioactive symbol. I think that it would look better with the rad symbol yellow. With it transparent it gets lost. You could do opaque yellow, or put something semi-trasparent behind it and then shine some yellow light from behind it so it would glow yellow. That would be very cool I think.

Good idea, I will try it if I find piece of yellow transparent film/foil. Anyway I'm gonna put more light behind rad symbol to make inside more visible.

I'm  fiding it more interesting to than scratch build.
By the way great furniture drventure, We watching it from start, never heard about steampunk before   ::)

Juke box is my must do, but I love it with touch screen as a part of sound system connected to amplifier.
There was an idea to put touch LCD in upper marque but it seems to be to high.

  Still lot to do :laugh2:
Now Im playing with Gimp to put bit graphics under controls till I find someone  who make proper  CP an marque graphics. there is an issue with CP, I've stick black vinyl to MDF and plexi on top. Seems like vinyl is too glossy and stick with plexi in more presure areas  :-\ any ideas?

I found calendar We use for trainning purpose for hand cutting plotter  :lol, it is amazing like easy things to do can grow if You have not propper tools :banghead:
