For controls, I would go with PS360 PCBs. This works with XBox 360, PS3 and PC/Mac and is super-easy to install. If you want to build a cabinet just for console games, just wire this up directly to your control panel. If you're converting a JAMMA cabinet, just solder wires to a JAMMA fingerboard and hook the wires up to the PS360s. If you're using a 15kHz monitor, you can use either the viletim RGB Scart -> JAMMA adapter (link in a previous reply). This will give you video and sound that looks very nice. If you have a high res monitor CRT or an LCD, just get a VGA cable for you console. If you have a dual-sync monitor, you can get an Ultracade Universal Video Converter and run the consoles in 24kHz (640x384) and it will look fantastic as well. I have a 360 running in one of my EGRET II JAMMA dual-sync cabinets, check my site for pictures and more info. |

since no one posted pics, here's my dreamcast cab. http://cosmicbreaks.com/arcade/ it's exactly like everyone said above; its a tv, a dreamcast, some computer speakers and 2 controllers hacked into the control panel. i went step further and added a memory card slot to the panel, but its not needed... but i could easily switch any console into it with just a few wires being swapped and 2 controllers being hacked to DB25 connectors... that isn't the best set of pics of the cab sadly. if you look at the main arcade page you get a better idea of how it looks now, 27" tv in place, glass and monitor bezel in place, etc.... |
