Hi Mike.

Firstly I must say...outstanding work. Ive been looking for a vertical theme for ages, and nothing comes close.

Your work is first rate.

I've just installed your layout and was wondering if there is any way of changing the fonts on the game list.

I did try adding the fonts in one of your other DK.Jr to the Windows/Font folder...but no change

Thanks

I'm not the most tech-savy guy, but I would think if you opened the .mll file in the MaLa layout editor you should be able to modify the font.
All you would really be doing is a small edit to the original so I see no reason why it wouldn't work.
For example, when I create the layouts sometimes you don't know if all the text fit. So Id do the layout, save it, open it, test it, record what I need to change and go back.
I open the .mll file, make the edits, save, and I'm in business.

Take for example "game has been played times." The "game has been played times" is part of the background itself, so it remains sized and has no issues. But the number of plays is part of the layout. Depending on the font you use it might be too big or too small. I often have to create the 1st draft of the skin, do my testing and then modify.
It's simple and should be the solution you need.

Hi Mike,

Well I read your post, and you made it sound so easy.....but it wasn't (at first). I kept playing and playing, and finally by accident I found out that you could double click on the game list and it brings up all the options......it was now so easy!! :D

I'm sure I will have some more questions for you, but once again, thanks so much for the excellent art work

Next question.......

In the example "Blue" layout (attached), the snap is inside a round graphic, but the snap is obviously square. I guess its hiding the square corners to completly fill the round shape.

Any idea on how to do that on your layout?

Cheers  :)

mike boss:
I have no clue how to do that.
I know how it could be done, but in MaLa, if MaLa can do that I have no idea.
One of the biggest challenges I have when designing a layout is that MaLa does not support GIF transparency.
If  you look at some of my layouts you will see simple one color backgrounds. These layouts may contain some form of animation.
But with a more vivid complex background I cant pull this off in a way I like.
MaLa is awesome, but it has its limitations design wise.
I think (and Loadman) would be the one to ask, but everything that I add to a layout with MaLa goes ON TOP of the main image.
I dont think anything can be added behind the image, IE leaving an empty/transparent area to add something behind.
