Is everyone...or anyone....else seeing that weird blanking of content in ark_ader's posts?
I looked up XMBC a while back, but found it wasn't really being supported anymore. What do any of you like about/want with it?

Hover your mouse cursor over it. It's the "spoiler hiding" feature.

You must be thinking about the original XBOX XBMC. It is only supported by an offshoot group as it was dropped by the originators. XBMC is alive and well at http://xbmc.org/ Some people really like its features and looks for their media centers.

I think I rememeber now. I wanted the Confluence skin, and the 'download' text is not a link.

I bought one of these with a leftover birthday Amazon gift card before I realized that the hacks/implements were only a week fresh. My first though was "Wow, this almost the size of two iphones mating." But as I studied on what was needed to install XBMC on it, i stumbled across this: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?t=91581
a sizable list of limitations, and posts about how sluggish it handles. So I guess it still very early days on this one. And sadly for me, the biggest appeal was getting it all to work on a 720p display. I know everyone is all jazzed about 1080p, but I gotta say for a 37" panasonic plasma, 720p is all i really need right now. However, until I tried hooking an ati5770 up to it on my media server. At native panel resolution of 1024 x 768 the computer sees it as a 4:3 display so everthing looks squashed, or if i switch it to 720p it looks blurry. I just don't understand how the Apple TV can see my funky res 720p just fine, or my Xbox360 looks fantastic streaming Netflix, but my ATi card just can't support the funky native resolution of the screen. Maybe i'll hold on the the Apple TV until the current XBMC issues get solved, and then I could possibly just use it to stream files to the tv. At least until I upgrade to a new 65" 1080p next year.
