9" or 10" monitor source?
« on: January 21, 2011, 05:47:12 pm »
I am looking for a 9-10" monitor to use for my bartop cab.  It would need a VGA input.  Any idea on the best sources for something like that?  Everything I saw on eBay that was cheap was shipping from China which doesn't exactly give me a warm fuzzy.

what isn't made in china these days?

i repurposed an old portable DVD player with a 10" screen which happened to have AV in...and a video card with composite output... it looked okay, not great for windows, but fine for games.

Do you know of a way to convert VGA to composite video?

yea, most after market video cards have SVideo and you can convert SVideo to Composite with a 5 dollar adapter.  Hakuna Matata

I bought an iPad and pulled one out. Marvelous 9.7 inch IPS screen, not available at normal suppliers.
The iPad internals now control my TV with a blue tooth Wacom touch panel, which is pretty cool as well.
