He does seem a bit assinine, but he seems to back it up... with VIDEO.. why is it so hard for him to actually do it (play games?) with people? I may have missed alot since KOK, maybe he is showing up for events now.
I am suprised at all the man love for Billy, In KoK he came off like a jackass, now if he is one in real life or not, I dont know, many people said the editing in that movie was kinda played up to make him the bad guy.
All i know is if he is really as he is made out to be, he is an ass, plain and simple, if not.. sorry for saying it, as judging sombody buy some interviews and such is a poor way to make a judgement.
If we where talking about rescuing people or cureing cancer, the "play to win" motto is correct. but its a friggin video game.. being an ass about that is ... well ...
Just an opinion

I've never met the man. He is an ass in every interview I've ever seen, but I think it's all in the name of self promotion.
If he didn't tell you how great he was, how would you know? He's a businessman first. Being boring is not good business.

I respect your opinion, and my rebuttal would be, if you're rescuing people or curing cancer and you're taking it as playing a game, then I would be scared to put my life in your hands. So...no, that motto is not appropriate for those professions. Yes, it's a friggin game. Games are meant to be played, meant to be won. Games without winning are not called games...they're called Ultimate Frisbee :D :lol

The guy has confidence, ambition and has been successful in life. But yet people hate him because of the things he says in the public eye. Man, it give wonder of all the ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- I've said...people must hate me. :D

i think its all a game, with far more Boss fights we cant win without another life (to bad we are all working with a single quarter). My guess is, as so many say its all about self promotion, time and history shows nice guys finish last (and I would love quote from the movie "THE ROCK", even if I dont follow that way of thinking, it was an awsome quote) in most everything (but not always thankfully). Im glad im just so-so.. hehehe
and yes very poor comparision by me.. games and human life.. Maybe i should of said when it matters, do your utmost, when your playing a game, have fun... But I guess for some, the fun is beating the other player, never was for me. just different mindsets, nobody is wrong or right in that.

Definitely throwing my support for Billy Mitchell. While it is cool that Steve and Hank got into Kong recently, Billy is old school. Billy reminds me of the guys (specifically his 80s footage) of the good players I would see in arcades...geeks in all other aspects but in the arcade they were Kings and could back their arrogance.
Being an old school arcade gamer myself I gotta go with the guy who enjoyed the game back when it was first out and popular. Plus his smug act is just awesome.

Billy Mitchell winning this contest would completely benefit my career but Hank Chien is a local guy and really a tremendous story so I am sort of torn. But yet again what do I know. I just want it to go back and forth for 48 hours straight Between Billy, Steve, Hank and an Unknown.
FYI I have spent Many Many hours with Billy Mitchell and his confidence comes across arrogant to most but the guy has a heart of gold. He just loves competition. If he was a QB of your Football team you would love him but all the other fans would hate him. I think it is just how competition goes. I am randomly babbling now hahahha.
Thanks everyone for all the posts. I am stoked i have sparked an interest.
