A degreaser, a scrub brush, and hot water.  That's how I do it.

And...dude...brave, sitting the tube on it's neck like that.

OP is saying "Simple Green", is that a degreeser?
Also, my mind is blown when he says it's hosed off.
In my mind, water has nothing to do on a pcb with parts on it. Aren't this supposed to be the request for oxidation and rust?

I have until now used the Q-tip + Acetone/methylated (spellcheck as i used google translate on "Rødsprit"). And this takes ages and does not give this nice finish.

Not if you dry it completely right away.

Also, i would love a "how to get xxxx THAT clean", the work on that monitor and chassis is way better than I ever got. Wanna share the secret?

Step 1:  Spray with a good coating of Simple Green (or any degreaser)
Step 2: After a few minutes hose off
Step 3: Let dry

That's it.  All the dirt comes right off.

I probably won't have any updates on this for a while.  The clean up of the mold took longer than expected (and I'm not sure I can save it and might have to cut new sides).  The temperature is already dropping and my painting window is closing.  I'll be back to working on this in the Spring.

Nope, just let it bake in the hot sun (but using those would work as well)

I made very sure it was in a good position and wouldn't snap the neck

Set up shop in garage + heater = paiting 24/7/356 = unhappy wife because she has to park her car outside in the cold

No, I decided the current cab can't be saved (or at least isn't worth the effort) so I'm looking for a donor cab to put the stuff into.
