| Spinner not recognized by win 7 64bit |

So I just finished building my brand new computer for my cabinet and I noticed my Tornado Spinner is not being recognized by windows 7 (64 bit). It's a brand new fresh install. What's weird is that it's not showing up in device manager at all... I know it's not a hardware problem because I can connect it to my macbook just fine. I don't think it's a bios problem because my bios is seeing two mice at bootup. So I think it's windows problem. It should just be a regular mouse so I'm not sure what the difference is -- both my trackball and regular mice come up just fine. any thoughts? |

Have you tried it on several ports to make sure it is not a port problem? Besides not working at all, I've seen some PCs get dirty USB ports and a little cleaning or unplugging and re-inserting a cable a few times can clean it enough to get it functioning again. |

yea, the spinner doesn't work on other ports and my regular mouse works just fine in the same ports :( |

I haven't used the Tornado spinner, but I have use lots of other models. They all seem to use standard HID drivers (basically mouse drivers). So, I don't know, but I think i'd either be a bad hid driver or a bad board on the spinner. |

Ok, after ALOT of trouble-shooting, I got it sorted out. Although it's still weird. I installed Win7 64bit on my Dell, and the spinner worked as expected, so it must be at least partially related to my new box. After some more playing around I discovered that if I plug the spinner into a powered USB hub then windows sees it as expected. |
