Mikezilla:
I got 2 tickets a week ago, and I never received the courtesy notice in the mail, so I look online and lo and behold, 600 bucks for one, and 300 for the other. The first one was regarding me not stopping completely at a broken red light at a ---smurfy--- little "intersection" by my house. The other one was for a damn cell phone ticket that I should have just lied about. I was driving home and my mom called me to let me know that her eye surgery went well. 14 Seconds on the phone, tops. The first one really pisses me off though, I cant believe the freakin cop can sleep at night knowing he gave someone a ticket that is going to cost that much money. I wanted to Kaiser Soze his ass man I cant believe it. The thing too is, he was all nice and was acting sorry about it. Then they wonder why people get shot on the road in California. If I had a gun, I might have done it!!!

I havent been this mad in a long time. Seriously, it takes a lot to piss me off but jesus, this did the job just fine. ---fudgesicle--- California. Piece of ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- state. Doesnt have any money so they try and leech it from the residents anyway they can. ---fudgesicle---.

Vigo:
:o Damn! That sucks big time. I'm really sorry to hear that, man. Those are incredibly expensive tickets as well. I guess I always assumed that a "California stop" was not a big deal in California.

Can you contest the tickets? Maybe you can at least get the amount reduced if you show up.

Not even close to how bad it is over here in downtown Fullerton.. I'm afraid to drive anywhere at night, my friends don't like driving to my place, my wife gets scared everytime we get pulled over..  I've been pulled over 3 times in one month before for the dumbest BS reasons..

First time I was being tailed by a cop car at night, seriously right on my bumper, so I put on my blinker and got over to the left lane, cop lit me up and said he pulled me over because I changed lanes too fast.. ran a check, found nothing, hava goodnight.

The next weekend in the same general area right by my place at night, I was approaching a red light and up ahead I noticed a cop was already waiting at the light to make a left turn.  I needed to make a right turn so I did the normal routine.. put on my blinker, stopped at the corner, didn't even look at the cop next to me or make eye contact, then proceeded to make the turn... well whata'yknow, the cop that was waiting to make a left turn decided to cut across 3 lanes to make a right turn and get right up on me.  As I'm pulling up in front of my garage about to get out of the car to open it, I get lit up again.  This time it's a female officer and said she pulled me over for accelerating around the corner too fast...............  ran my plate, license, etc. found nothing then told me to have a good night.

Then the very next weekend after that, at night again, I was taking a friend home and I get pulled over immediately after pulling out of my garage and out onto the street, told me he pulled me over b/c my license plate light bulb was too dim...  It's too dim!!!  How the flippin heck do you determine that??!  Your headlights are shining on my license plate when you're behind me!!  At this point I was pissed, and I let him know about being harrassed, and he straight up just admitted to me that right now they are just pulling people over looking for drunk drivers.

They've been pulling people over here randomly for some time now and it's happend to me, my wife, our  friends, neighbors..  This is ridiculous, I'm actually considering putting up a dash cam in my car to get this on film,  you guys gotta see this to believe it, the most ridiculous reasons ever just to say they had probable cause.  Total times pulled over for the year 2010: 6  and 1 of the times I actually got a fix it ticket.. for window tint being too dark... then the cops laughed at me when I went in the police department to get the ticket written off.  One of them said "Wow, you got a ticket for window tint alone, that's embarassing.. I didn't know we did that."

Blanka:
Seriously?

I remember getting a ticket in the USA in 1999 for parking in the wrong direction (on the left side) in a one-way street (how else can you park there  :laugh2: ). That was 10$. I asked them if there actually was a cheaper ticket. They said they had: 2.5$ for parking your wheels on the curbs.
Thinks have changed man! We get pissed at 150 euro for red-light and cell-phone use, but I understand that is peanuts now.

Malenko:
$195 for having a tinted license plate cover.

It was a dirty clear cover but the cop wouldnt listen to me.
