Starting My First Cab

Well I'm not a complete new user here but I haven't posted much yet. The last year or two I have been reading a lot of the threads here after I stumbled on Maximus Arcade and installed it on my Media center PC with a USB Gamepad. I got hooked on emulation and on Mame and found my way to these forums. A Few months later I switched to Hyperspin and I'm still using that today.

Last summer we moved and now I finally have some room to start building a cab.
I already did a touchscreen jukebox (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=104172.0) in august and that has been a great hit with friends and family coming over for a cold beer :-)

So the last few months it's been itching more and more to start my cab and I have got some funds together (but offcourse there is also the 'wife' factor to consider)

The idea is to build a two player cab inspired by knievels woody. A Nice slim cab with an LCD monitor and a control panel wider than the cab itself so two players can play comfortably.

I will try to write down how I'm planning the build.

1. Buy a new PC capable of running everything from mame to n64 and dreamcast emulation.
2. Configure as much as I can without having to build the control panel
3. Build a control panel (1 player only at first, I will buy more parts as more funds come availavable)
4. Build the rest of the cab.

I figure the first 2 steps will take me a few months as I have a 20 month old son and a second baby on the way.

I will post some pictures later this week of a scale model I already built as a reference.

To finish, something about me.
I'm 28 years old. I live in Belgium. Employed in security and a game fanatic since I was about 6 years old.
