my first cab

morning guys iv decided to go ahead and use the 26" sanyo tv for my monitor.  i started a thread on the main section of the forum to get some feed back on running a vertical monitor in a cab..  and it was enough info to convince my self it will work just fine. ( besides i already own it )  here is the link:

after something, cutting some slots into the side of the cab seem a little to redneck even for me.

i will be using a universal vesa flat screen tv adapter to mount the tv vertical into my cab.  i will be using a 24" long 2x6 mounted to the side of the cab using metal brackets you can pick up at home depot for such purposes.  the bracket im hoping i can find here in town looks like:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824998240&cm_re=vesa_mount-_-24-998-240-_-Product

Now the bracket dose cost a little more than what i originally wanted to spend. ill be able to use it for other projects down the road if i do not use it when i rebuild this cab.

when im at home depot ill pick up a 4x.25 pine board to use as spacers for the front of the cab/bezel and to hold the tinted plexi glass in place.  thats the plan, ill wing that as I go after i install the tv.

i also need to pick up a paddle bit so i can drill a hole for the spare arcade button i bought to use for a external power button.  im thinking of mounting this on the top of the cab around the marquee.  i originally was thinking mounting it under the control panel..  on the angle piece between the drawer and access panel.  but as my little sister has had her first kid 4 months ago.  he s gonna start getting him self in all kinds of trouble when he starts walking.  so mounting the button on top seems like a logical place to me.

if i can find a vesa bracket in town like the one in the url/pic.. I hope to get this tv power button figured out this weekend.

well thats it for now.  i have a doctors appointment tomorrow see if they cant figure out whats wrong with my guts and why my legs are swollen up to the size of basketballs.  who knows maybe i can get off these anti biotic too.  take care of your selfs.. life is fragile..  :)  take it from a crippled.  cheers.

chris.

Chris-

I bought this bracket below, and I was really happy with it. It's great for a small monitor:
