| 16 port USB hub that's actually affordable |

Just came across this gizmo while surfing... http://usb.brando.com/usb-slim-16-port-hub_p01973c039d015.html It's 72$ which might stretch the definition of affordable, but considering if you chain hubs, you'll get less than the 7 max ports you normally see, you might come out only slightly more expensive than buying the 3 7port hubs you'd need, plus this is one nice neat little unit. EDIT just saw this one the same site. Same cost, a little more industrial looking. |

why do you need 16 usb ports? ??? |

WTF! Whoa! Could be used for servers. I imagine if you had 16 hard drives and you were accessing even an eighth of them at a single time you would bottleneck it big time. |

Well, in my case 2 trackballs 2 USB extender cables for running plugs to the side of the cabinet. PS2 converter 2 U360's IPac4 3 LEDWizs USB Spinner Flightstick 2 PS3 guitar hero wireless guitar controller adapters (and likely a drum adapter before I'm done) And I'm experimenting with using a couple of those 1" photo keychain things that's USB connected for showing slide shows on screens embedded within the CP, but that's another project too. But yeah, I'm probably an edgecase ;) |

Yeah, I don't know about server use or any kind of high bandwidth requirements, probably wouldn't work so great in those cases. But for HID devices, seems perfect. |
