2 Player (GALICOT) Bartop
« on: November 20, 2010, 07:56:49 pm »
Here is my first BARTOP ARCADE 2 player, 20" Monitor it's going to be set up with Hyperspin (HYPERSPIN MOVIES), & GameEX. I will post more pics once I find more Mario theme pics for the side art & Control Panel. My friend is going to hook it up with the stickers for $18.00  ::)

Looks great! How are you securing the CP?

I like it! What size is that monitor? Need better quality pics though. I'm sure that marquee looks a lot better in person.
Any more pics?

Good start but need better pictures to show your work.   Why do you have an asymetrical control panel design for your 2 players?

I'm going to bolt it down with some stainless steel washers, bolts, & nuts. The bar-top itself has a board in front of the CP for reinforcement & support. Most of the stress will be from the edge of the cab to the back of the CP. I will post some pics as soon as I drill the holes. I will make sure it's going to be sturdy, I got the idea from a Atari CAB that I had in the past.

Why Not >:D,  :blah: :blah: :blah: :blah: :blah:  :blah: I did this for the reason that I wanted to create more of a  game play room (ELBOW ROOM FOR BIG BOYS) ::), Player one would be playing in 100 - 110 degree angle to the right and Players two will be playing 100 - 110 degree angle to the left, therefore leaving more space between player 1 & 2.

The only thing you have to watch out for is that people may have a hard time determining which direction is up. They may not know that they need to stand at 110 degrees to the machine and not push directly towards the monitor.

If the bartop is 24" wide (or wider) you'll be fine if they are at 90 degrees.

Good observation, Yes some players will be at a disadvantage because of the layout :dunno. OK I will add arrows on the CP (MAN NOW HOW Am I SO-POSE TO WIN ALL THE GAMES NOW) >:D >:D >:D, DIRECTIONAL ARROWS art work for the newbies ;), it is 24" wide CP, usually that's fine but like I said It's set up more fore BIG BOYS, my upper body is almost 24'' wide and some of my friends are wider, some not all suckers.

thanks for the input

I got the artwork printed for the sides and controller. My coworker cousin owns a print shop in Tijuana (MEXICO) and hooked it up for $18.00. I'm going to find out how much will it cost for a full size Arcade side art would cost.

The monitor is a 20" LCD. And here are some more pics, the marquee is still just a preliminary copy. And here are some better pics.

The hardest part for me is to try to do a front slot loading DVD Drive, I got the idea from a member (Pixelhugger)  on here I'm going to try it out in this project. Her eare the pic the Pixelhugger provided in his project MISSION CONTROL.
