Jamma Board (xxxx in 1) VS Mame machine

Pages: << < (2/5) > >>

BobA:

If you have limited CPU resources you are better off with an older version of mame.  That said it is nice to be able to choose what mame you are going to use and get the matching ROMs.  The jamma board locks you in to ? version of mame it can be reprogrammed but is alot harder to work with than a PC that you have full control over.

As most know here,  I have no problem with most of the multi's...

...that said,  the XXXX-in-1's are ---steaming pile of meadow muffin---.  I've dicked around with 2 different versions and they are ---steaming pile of meadow muffin---.  They are under powered running an older version of MAME with much much much less flexibility. Plus there are multiple reports you get USED ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- (of the 2 I got,  1 was OBVIOUSLY using used components...right from the distribution company!)...
