Control Panel Layout help...
« on: January 05, 2011, 02:30:49 pm »
I have the skeleton of the machine made, but I'm having big problems with the control panel.
I know what buttons/joysticks/controllers I want, and I know roughly the size I want it to be.  I'm just having a tough time getting them all laid out nicely.

Does any one have any good layout advice, or suggestions.

I know I want:
2 Joysticks with 7 buttons
3" Track ball
Spinner, 2 buttons, and dedicated 4-way at the top

I love the layout of Knievel's The Evolution CP.  But I cannot find dimentions or a layout for it anywhere.

I would like the panel to be no longer than 35" (If possible)  The cab is 28.5" wide.

Willing to pay for some one to help me layout the CP, as this is definitely something I've been struggling with for a couple weeks now.  Please PM me with some examples you have done.

Please note not looking for Artwork just yet, just the layout for now.

Thanks!
-Andy

get a piece of cardboard, got to www.slagcoin.com and print out their layouts full size and mock something up!  Personally, I prefer the sega astrocity setup.
