Just ordered a Makvision 27"/29" tri-mode flat screen CRT
« on: December 01, 2011, 03:23:43 am »
Heya,

I just ordered myself a 27/29" Makvision tri-mode flat screen monitor for my new arcade project. It's analog but it will sync 15/24/31KHz horizontally which is more than what I'm asking for.

I haven't found too much info about this monitor, so I was wondering if anyone here have any experience with it?

Thanks! :)

Thanks, but I already have the specs. I was hoping that someone out there had one of these and could share their opinion. :) Thanks anyways.

Good thing I love scanlines. :) I saw some VGA screenshots of it here the other day and I think it looked awesome. Thanks for the input!

some but not all have right hand side compression issues on 15khz,it's something to do with slight mismatch with the yoke
every one I have worked on/seen of these chassis has looked excellent on 31khz

Since it's not digital I was thinking of running it in 31khz only (and upscale CGA/EGA games). It works fine with most MAME games and every 8/16 bit emulator is perfectly fine at 640x480 as well. Good thing it looks good in 31khz then. :)

I'm going to use an ArcadeVGA 3000 that I've had here for a while.
