I've found it at a Fnac superstore, in Italy where (i live and) it's officially distributed. You can find a video of the machinegun in action here

I've desisted after a few hours because of the lack of a software that could detect the wiimote like a plug'n play device (glovepie was too long to configure for my taste), the inaccuracy of the pointer (using glovepie) and last but not least, the absence of a "real" light gun shape, wiimote.

Well, now I've found a user friendly software that detect my wiimote "on the fly" and seems enough accurate (using sensor bar) in desktop use, at about 1,5 -2 meters discance from the monitor (you can find it at this url http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=1192317).
I've also found a really badass (machine) gun with wiimote and nunchuk integrated...

... There's only one problem: the wiimote is not recognized by mame (probably because of the raw imput detection method used by the emulator)...

So I'm here to ask your help to solve the problem; any suggestion will be appreciated

----------------UPDATE---------------
I've tried it with an old version of mame that supports direct input and it works (quite) well: the pointing accuracy is not bad... the "feel" It's almost the same as using wiimote with a real wii to play on rail  games.
Unfortunatly, wiimote  buttons are not recognized by MAME; so, the controller works only as a pointing device.

Holy crap, that gun looks awesome! Link? (not that I could import it to Australia looking like that)

This actually sounds like a really awesome idea. I read the link you provided, and have 2 questions. I don't know if anyone has the answers, but:

1) do you know is there any reason they are reccomend a $70 bluetooth adaptor? These things are generally cheap as far as I know.

2) Why is the sensor bar optional? I don't get it. How would you even hook up a sensor bar to a pc? Do they mean that you need to hook up a wireless sensor bar via blue tooth?

$70???  Don't believe everything you read on the internet!  It might have been $70 1 1/2 years ago (when adding taxes and shipping to AU) but if you follow the link, Dlink has it for $29.99 in their store and Walmart has it for $22.82 +$.97 shipping

The "sensor bar" is a misnomer.  It does NOT sense anything.  It just shines a couple of infra-red lights and it is the wiimotes that "see" these lights.
The Wii sensor bar was optional because he had a battery powered "sensor bar".  I don't know what voltage the Wii feeds the sensor bar so I can't advise how to connect it to the pc.  A wireless sensor bar is wireless because it is powered by batteries and it doesn't "connect" to anything.  It just sits there shining 2 lights.

For the record I haven't tried to use my Wiimotes with my pc.  I am happy with using them with the Wii only.

Thanks for the reply, Michael.

I figured the mention of a $70 Bluetooth dongle was just a plug for an overpriced product, but wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything.

I didn't know the Wii sensor bar only sent an infrared signal, I thought it received one from the end of the wiimote as well. So, the sensor bar is optional, but it would be necessary to have something, even if that is just two infrared LEDs mounted in by the screen.

I am really interested in a wireless option for shooters, and this sounds like the cheapest route to go. I have a "non-invasive" mame-ing to my arcade cabinet. (Everything just routes through JAMMA and can be brought back to original in less than a minute, just by swapping out jamma plug and modular CP) I didn't do any shooter setup, because it would pretty much need a dedicated control panel.
