Use gorilla glue, and use a lot of it. I used a gallon to hold on just the top retainer.

When the light bulb burns out, I just build a new cab.

Hot melt glue.

I have come up with a few ideas for retainers using t-molding.  I'm going to put some things together this week (I think I have some t-molding around) if I have time and test them out.  If it doesn't work I will probably use window molding and find a way to discretely screw it on.

Try this:

Very carefully mount several magnets into the wood where the marquee retainer goes. A metal retainer will "clip" into place quite nicely and should remain in place from pure friction. I've seen 4'x4' wall panels held in place with just four magnets. This won't stop someone who is determined to open this up however. Plus the mounting material needs to be thick enough to accept the magnets.
