newmanfamilyvlogs:

in the context of the flyback, the 'brightness' is the screen pot. There will only be two on the flyback: focus and screen.

The lines may be green because you need to adjust the green drive on the neckboard of the monitor. It might be just a little out of balance and you wouldn't notice until a defect draws your attention to it.

Edit: after watching the video above, the green is definitely up too high. What should be black has a green tint to it.

You'll be interested in the greyscale adjustment at the bottom of this article:

Also measure the B+ voltage. If it's low it'll wave something like that.

With my wavy line problem how do I check this B+ voltage.

And Cotmm thanks for answering- OK so there are 6 pots on the neck - 2 of each color - of the 2 green which would be the drive?  I just don't want to mess it up and turn the wrong thing - The monitor scares me - I also think the neck is cracked and leaking (its grounding itself with a little screeching from time to time. - can that be replaced?

If the neck was cracked the vacuum would be gone and it would not be working. The capkit will help the screeching probably. I bet you'll smell some ozone back there too.

OK so my monitor looks EXACTLY like this guys - I have a WG 7194 just like this guy and I have the EXACT wavy line at the top of the screen.  His problem was never resolved properly.  I don't have a Chassis to replace mine with and was wondering if anyone else has seen this problem.

Thanks

Nephasth:

I had the same problem with one of my monitors, although not as bad.

After asking about it on KLOV, adjusting the Horizontal Hold pot straightened it right up.
