32" lcd cabinet
« on: October 15, 2010, 05:04:37 pm »
This is my first cabinet in a while and my first ever LCD build. Just looking for something simple for my consoles and a few mame favorites. I plan to do the whole thing in black laminate with blue t-mould. Let me know what you think of the design. the rectangles in the monitor area are the outside of the tv and the actual screen there just there for reference. Im just trying to get the design finalized then I will do a better rendering.
I don't know if you know this but I'm sort of a big deal. I own many leather bound books and my apartment smells of rich mahogany.

I take it this is an upright cabinet, or is it a sit-down? I don't believe I have seen a 32" LCD used in a non sit-down cab project yet. I will watch for more details and pics.    ;D

Im planning for a upright. My last couple cabinets were sit downs, a super neo 29 and a blast city. I was wanting to buy a vewlix but I dont really have the money right now and I would like to go with a stand up so I figured why not give it a try. I havent seen any others stand up wood cabinets with a large lcd so Im not really sure how its going to look. I will do a rendering of a what I have planned for the finished cab soon.

I love this idea.  I've been toying around designing my own cab which is fairly similar to this one but perhaps with a 26-28" LCD.  I look forward to seeing the progress and results.

Ive been busy at work so I havent got to far with this. I did change the design slightly and I think I have all the parts layed out how I want. I just need to get the cnc time at work. Not sure if you can tell from the pics but the piece on the top is going to be a couple pieces of 1/8" plexi with a marquee sandwiched between or a pc of 1/4" w/ laser engraving. Please let me know what you guys think. I have thick skin i can take it.

Let's get this thing going!  Standup vewlix is what I want to see!

that profile sort of reminds me of the (in)famous Mission Control project
