$9.99 encoder

I ordered a couple of these. Has anyone else gotten one yet? If so, then how many inputs does it have, and what keys does it press?

Has anybody NOT gotten theirs? It seems like the seller has built up some negative feedback lately.

Those are a pre-hacked keyboard with european style terminal connects.  So no features, you have to worry about ghosting ect.  Of course your average usb keyboard is about 10 bucks so it's not a bad deal.  I don't think anyone around here has one though.

Well, I had both of them slated for single joystick applications, so hopefully they will be sufficient.

Did you take the time to read about the item Howard?  :P

One of them is going into the dedicated 4-way panel for my upcoming horizontal cabinet, and the other one is going into my psuedo tron panel for the same cabinet (8-way Wico top fire leaf stick, and spinner).

If I like them, then I will probably order a few more. I still have my Space Firebird to think of, and it would be nice to add a bank of buttons to my trackball panel so that I could play Quake 2 properly with it.

yeah let us know how they turn out.
If possible you could even dismantle one, and tell us how it works ie electronically.  'cause if its made from off the shelf components they should be able to be made for around the same price.

I also neglected to order the full 6 or 7 that I could really use because I was a bit wary about the seller. They still have over 90 percent positive feedback, but it has not been so hot lately.

I've got one...had one...it never worked.  >:(

Anyway, it has 11 inputs and a key combo(1+2=escape). The keys as taken from the diagram that came with the thing are as follows:
____
|0 0| =5
|0 0| =6
|0 0| =1
|0 0| =2
|0 0| =u
|0 0| =d
|0 0| =r
|0 0| =ctrl
|0 0| =alt
|0 0| =space
|0 0| =l
|0 0| =ground
------

Like I said I had one, but it wouldn't work. I took it apart in an attempt to fix it but the effort was futile. It's basically a terminal block encased in epoxy (in my case the terminals I needed were encased in epoxy). With an encoder chip underneath the block. I soon discovered that you can't disassemble this thing without destroying it. In all honesty, this has to be one of the worst fabrications I have ever seen. Hopefully, you will have better luck. But I think not ordering in mass was a good call.  ;)

Buyer beware!

I ordered one on July 25th.  Still waiting for delivery.  he also did not respond to my last email yet. (sent 5 days ago)

However, when I wrote him a couple weeks ago asking about a devise with more inputs, he said they were working on a 24 input device.

It's a wait and see.  I usually dont freak till It gets almost a month and no item.

Actually yeah, I just don't beleive it.  Don't trust anything being exclusively sold on ebay.  :)

I recieved my encoder and it works.  Only 11 inputs.  Very mild functionality.  This guy is real slow on shipping these items out.  He said he had some computer issues, but he gets alot of complaints, so I dont know for sure.

The item works fine, just as desribed.

I'll post pics and whatnot when i finish the minicab it is going in.

I am glad to hear you got yours. I am still waiting on mine. I ordered two of them. I figured it was easier than hacking a joystick.

Will all the inputs work at the same time, or is there a limit?

If you look at the pic this device is ps2 only (at least Im assuming)  That means you can't use two at once.

11 inputs, no wonder there isn't any ghosting, as most keyboard matricies are 16 blocks long.  ;)
